This is my first blog post. I think this could be a great way to for me to communicate with congregants and others. But before I begin using it, I want to make sure that it will be read. Please let me know, in person or via email, that you have read this message. That will tell me if there is enough interest out there to make this a viable communication channel. I hope to hear from you.
Thanks.
What a great name for this evening – Love and Shalom! These two words describe accurately, in my opinion, the current mood at Temple Beth El. We should not take this state of affairs for granted because, as many of us know, it is somewhat rare in synagogue life.
Our honorees tonight deserve a large part of the credit for this major accomplishment. Bonnie and Steve agreed to become Co-Presidents of our congregation under very difficult conditions.
They deserve to be honored for this alone - Dayeinu! Most people abandon a sinking ship in the middle of a storm. They did not.
They did much more than that - They saved the ship, and they have done this with Love and Shalom!
Rabbis do not often praise presidents of the synagogues, but I am truly honored to be part of our Co-Presidents’ team. I look forward to our continued partnership as we strive to bring our Temple to the next level of excellence.
We should all be very grateful to Bonnie and Steve for their selfless devotion and loyalty to our beloved congregation.
A heartfelt Mazal Tov to both of them!
Hello, everybody and welcome to my new blog.
It's on this page that I'm going to share my thoughts, opinions, and sometimes my advice, about issues that I believe will interest you. And I will not just be blogging about Temple Beth El. Look for my comments about the news of the day, the Middle East, the 2012 presidential race and other issues that I feel should warrant your attention. The best part is that this is not a one-way monologue. You are invited to participate with your responses and let's see if we can't get some healthy discussions going that will get us all thinking. Keep it civil, keep it clean, and keep it short and I'll try to do the same. RIght now this blog is not monitored. So whatever you write will appear immediately online. I hope that no one will abuse this arrangement and that I will not be forced to review your comments before posting them. Watch this space! It will be thought-provoking and exciting, I promise you.
