“The Archaeology of Ancient Israel”
Little can be more critical to survival in a desert climate than access and storage of water. In this lecture Professor Magness takes us back to pre-Davidic, Jebusite Jerusalem and the Gihon Spring which gushes to this day. How did the ancients solve the problem of drawing the water from the unfortified source below to the Temple Mount where Solomon ultimately built his temple?
And how did they keep enemies from accessing this water which was outside the city gate? What do you think of this feat of engineering?
All are welcome to join the video-discussion on Tuesday, January 8 at 10:30 in the Chapel.
