Rabbi & Spiritual Leader

Rabbi Alan R. Bell

Rabbi Alan Bell is passionate about sharing the word of Torah. "Torah is our guidebook through life's journey. Torah lifts us when we're down, gives us hope when we think there is none, and enhances our joy at all times."

As Temple Beth El nears its 100th anniversary, Rabbi Alan sees himself as the bridge between the past and future of the Synagogue, always mindful of the needs of all generations.

Rabbi Alan grew up in Northern New Jersey, attending Yeshivah day school, graduating from Yeshivah University, and receiving Smicha from Tzel HaTorah in Jerusalem. Rabbi Alan is unique in that before ascending the pulpit at

Beth El, he had worked in several Synagogues as the Executive Director, including five years as Executive Director at Beth El. Rabbi Alan now brings his "people skills" and love of Beth El to the Bimah.

Rabbi Alan is married to Rebbetzin Susan, his partner in all things. Alan and Susan have four daughters and three  granddaughters. The Rabbi and Rebbetzin welcome all to join with the family that is Beth El.
